look if i found out my ex, who i still very much have feelings for, is part of a super hero duo and couldn’t tell me what was going on and now i have to unpack everything while i was dating her in a different light, in addition to the fact that HER crush is also the guy she fights alongside with but she doesn’t even know it??? and HE has a crush on her as a superhero?? i would not be able to keep composure.
So Ladybug and Chat noir have their falling out. Its bad, its pretty bad. Chat noir doesn’t quit being a hero, he is just done treating this like a partnership, its basically a job for him now. Ladybug can do her patrols with Rena Rouge or whoever she decided to trust more than him. Ladybug can’t exactly fault him for that, but it hurts her too. And Rena Rouge stopped trying to mediate after Chat noir bit her head off during the argument. So Ladybug and Rena Rouge agree to give him some space.
Now Adrien’s relationship with Ladybug suffered, but somehow, during this time, His relationship with Marinette improved a lot. He needed an escape from his escape. And Marinette provided him that. A comforting friend, a warm family happy to have him over. It was a pleasant little haven.
He is hanging out with her more. She doesn’t get mad when he suddenly dips out, she is actually really cool with things. Honestly she is the person he really needed at this point in his life. He starts seeing her in a better light, wondering if maybe marinette was the one he should have been looking for all this time.
During one of their hang outs, an akuma attacks the bakery. Adrien focuses on protecting Marinette. He will make sure she is safe and as soon as he gets an opportunity, He will get out as chat noir and help.
Rena Rouge arrives and gets dealt with too quickly, not even giving Adrien time to get marinette to safety.
They are hiding in her room and Marinette is freaking out, wondering if chat noir will save them. (Though she is saddened saying it, she misses her kitty)
-Adrien realizes he doesn’t have time to wait for Ladybug and decides to do what he was going to do in Optigami.
“Please keep this a secret.”
He transforms in front of her. Then he dives down the door to fight the akuma.
-Marinette has a LOT to process, Chat noir is Adrien, Adrien is chat noir. Chat noir trusted Marinette with his identity.
-But right now she needed to transform.
-So she turns into Ladybug and goes down the door.
-The Akuma has been dealt with, pinned down and the item in Chat noir’s claws.
“Took you long enough.”
He tosses her the item. She purifies the akuma, makes the charm and gets the charm to the former akuma.
-Ladybug goes for a fist bump but he walks right past her. He asks where Marinette is.
-Ladybug gives Chat noir the “ Oh she is safe.” But Chat noir snaps at her.
-“Where specifically.”
-Ladybug realizes he is concerned and she says she put her on a rooftop nearby. She will go get her.
-“Just go check on Rena Rouge and Leave.” Chat noir dismissed.
-Ladybug casts miraculous cure and ensures Rena Rouge is fine.
-Ladybug tells her to go. Rena Rouge could tell Ladybug is having a rough day, she will ask later.
-Ladybug rushes to a nearby rooftop and Detransforms just before chat noir got there.
-Chat noir hugs Marinette in relief. He shifted back to Adrien.
-Marinette confesses that its a lot to take in. Marinette asks if Ladybug would be okay with him telling…
-“Probably not, and she can take his miraculous later if she has to.”
-Marinette was hurt by the sharp response… but she knew she had no right.
i love the general consensus that the progressive sidelining of chat noir is not coincidental and WILL in fact lead to conflict and the eventual assertion of chat noir as a LEADER
